Utilities Support

 

  • PG&E Gas and Electric Co.
    • Halted service disconnections for nonpayment for residential and commercial customers until further notice. Will offer flexible payment plans “to customers who indicate either an impact or hardship as a result of COVID-19.”

  • Verizon
    • For the next 60 days, Verizon is waiving late fees for impacted customers and businesses. Verizon will not terminate service because of inability to pay.
    • Verizon is also providing free minutes for calls to certain countries that are impacted by COVID-19.

  • Mayor London N. Breed announced a partnership between the SFUSD and nonprofits to provide internet to thousands of students in SF including the deployment of up to 25 WiFi “SuperSpots.” Devices will be located in areas of highest need, including public housing sites, SROs, community centers, and other locations where there is a concentrated population of students lacking internet. Launching 4/13.

 

Free Wifi in San Francisco

If you are in or near Downtown San Francisco, free Wifi is available to you. The network name is #SFWiF. This network has security risks, so please be cautious about what you are doing on this network. You can access this free network on:

  • All of Market Street
  • Civic Center
  • Alamo Square
  • Mission Dolores Park Areas
  • Parts of Corona Heights Park

If you download the Wiman app, it will connect you with available free networks around your location.

Wifi is available in public parks across San Francisco. Some of the locations are:

  • Balboa Park
  • Crocker Amazon Playground
  • Richmond Recreation Center
  • Marina Green
  • Civic Center Plaza
  • Glen Park
  • Mission Dolores Park
