Welcome to the sfgoodwill.org website, operated by Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin Counties, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social enterprise. We open doorways to jobs for local people in need.

By accessing our site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.

Except where otherwise noted, the materials posted on this site may be retrieved, downloaded, reused and republished solely for not-for-profit or educational purposes.

Except where noted, all materials on this site are copyrighted under this Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial license. If you are uncertain whether reuse is permitted, please contact us for clarification.

In releasing our content under a CC BY-NC license, our goal is to foster and encourage an ethos of sharing with the community. Creative Commons is a San Francisco nonprofit organization and licensing system that promotes the creative reuse of intellectual and artistic works by offering creators the ability to spell out the ways in which others may use their works.

We respect copyright laws. Third-party material may appear on our site, and those creators retain all rights to their works, except where noted.

Submissions Policy

We welcome submissions from the community in the form of guest blog posts, photos, videos, comments and other published materials.

Content submitted by a user remains the intellectual property of the individual user. By posting content on our site, you expressly grant us a nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid-up worldwide, fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, transmit, perform and display such materials and your name, voice, and/or likeness as contained in your user submission, in whole or in part, and in any form throughout the world in any media or technology, including all promotion, advertising, marketing, merchandising, publicity and any other ancillary uses thereof.

Community Guidelines

You are prohibited from posting or submitting to our site or blogs any unlawful, threatening, defamatory, libelous, obscene, pornographic or profane material or any other material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense or give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your activities on our site and blogs.

When posting to our site or blogs, you agree to be bound by our Community Guidelines.

DMCA and Notification of Claimed Copyright Infringement

We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If a copyright infringement has occurred, a copyright holder may send a notification of claimed infringement to the designated agent below. This must include the following:

1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of the infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled as well as information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material
4. Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number and, if available, an email address
5. A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed

Counter-notification to Claimed Copyright Infringement

An alleged copyright infringer may file a counter-notification to the DMCA takedown notice. The counter-notification must include:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the alleged infringer.
2. Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location before removal.
3. A statement under penalty of perjury that the alleged infringer has a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
4. Their name, address, telephone number and a statement that they consent to the jurisdiction of Federal District Court for the judicial district in which the address is located, or if the subscriber’s address is outside of the United States, for any judicial district in which the service provider may be found, and that they will accept service of process from the person who provided notification under subsection (c)(1)(C) or an agent of such person.

Changes to these Terms of Use

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add or delete portions of these Terms of Use at any time without further notice. If we do this, we will post the changes to these Terms of Use on this page and will indicate at the top of this page the date these terms were last revised. Your continued use of the site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use. We encourage you to periodically review the terms.
