Goodwill Prepares People for the Jobs of Today and Tomorrow
Tens of thousands of Bay Area residents do not have the skills or experience our economy demands. Goodwill provides the training and support to help job seekers gain the expertise and tools they need to fully participate in today’s job market.
We offer everything from entry-level skill building to technical certifications, along with one-on-one career coaching and support. Our job seekers learn the highest industry standards and gain the proficiency necessary to land jobs that they can grow into careers.
Far too many people in the Bay Area feel discouraged, even hopeless, because they do not have the necessary skills to break into the job market.
Goodwill’s guiding principle is that everybody deserves a second chance—and everybody can be trained to succeed in today’s economy. We provide free training and job services for people who struggle to find a job due to barriers to employment. These barriers can include housing insecurity, language capabilities, justice-involvement, or simply the challenges of the job market. For more than 100 years we have proven that training tailored for the individual–and the job market–is the key to a brighter future and a stronger community.

More Success StoriesOur mission is supported by your donations and purchases.
We help job seekers at any stage of their career, whether they are learning to craft their first resume or want to level-up existing skills to build a career. These services are possible due to our shoppers and donors, who allow us to fund our training programs and personalized career support.
When someone makes a purchase at a Goodwill SF Bay store or brings unwanted items to our donation centers, they are helping us better the lives of people in our community. Every year, we help thousands of our neighbors with their careers and place hundreds of them in jobs that support their goals.
