Regular shoppers at Goodwill SF Bay stores have noticed some emptier shelves in the home goods aisles. There aren’t as many items in stock and what we do have gets snapped up quickly. We need your help to fix this! Take the opportunity to clean out your kitchen cabinets, pantry shelves, laundry room—wherever you’ve been stashing those unused housewares—and bring those items to your nearest Goodwill donation center. We will help you clear out your home and use those unwanted appliances to directly support our job programs for people in need.
What are “housewares”?
When we’re requesting donations of housewares, what we’re asking for are useful household items such as those found in a kitchen: cooking utensils, pots and pans, small appliances like blenders or toasters. Everyone has items like this—the waffle maker you only used once, the novelty mug from your family’s Secret Santa exchange, the salt and pepper shakers you never remember to refill. Think of the items in other parts of your home as well. Maybe there’s a lamp that just doesn’t work with your decor anymore, an iron going unused now that you work remotely, or a bathroom shelf that you’re never going to get around to hanging anyway.
These items may not be useful to you anymore, but there are Goodwill SF Bay shoppers out there who would love to discover them and give them a new home. And beyond that, there’s a job seeker out there in need of the training and support we provide thanks to the sale of those items.
Donating is easy and convenient
We have a donation center for everybody, whether you like to do a little shopping after donating or you want to be done as fast as possible. On rainy days you can stop by one of our many drive-through donation sites where our attendants will help you with your items, without you even needing to leave your car. Or if you like to be extra efficient and combine your errands, head to one of the donation sites located in shopping centers. See the list below for drive-through sites, or use our handy map to find the nearest location to you.
