Motherhood isn’t defined by just one role. It’s early mornings, late nights, and all the unseen moments in between. For Andrea Rose, it’s also about creating a legacy dedicated in service to others.
Andrea is the Reentry Program Manager at Goodwill SF Bay, but her most treasured titles are Mom and Grandma. Her two daughters and 12-year-old granddaughter are the heart behind everything she does. Her children, raised right here in the Bay Area, have built careers of service, working in city and federal government to support people navigating the reentry process. Her granddaughter, an honor roll student, is already making an impact by mentoring others through basketball and excelling in learning Chinese.
Andrea’s family is a reflection of her values and her journey. Years ago, Andrea reached a turning point and made the decision to build a better life not just for herself, but for her family. That path led her to Goodwill. What began as a stepping stone became something so much more.
She entered Goodwill’s Pathways to Employment program and quickly moved from administrative support into a leadership role. Today, she leads the very program that helped her get back on her feet. She’s walked in the shoes of the people she now supports, and that lived experience makes her an empathetic, trusted leader. She mentors others with compassion and a deep understanding of what’s possible when someone believes in you.
Andrea’s story is not only about professional success, it’s a reminder of what’s possible when people are given a real chance.
At Goodwill SF Bay, we’re proud to be a place where working moms like Andrea can grow, lead, and build the kind of legacy that extends across families and communities.
This Mother’s Day, we celebrate Andrea and all the moms balancing career, caregiving, and community.
When you shop or donate at Goodwill, you’re investing in women like Andrea and the next generation of changemakers.
Happy Mother’s Day!
