Get involved — and do good — by finding a position that suits your interests

Find out which rewarding volunteer opportunity is right for you! To find out more about Goodwill’s volunteer opportunities, please email Kate Moynihan or call (415) 575-2184 for more information.

Here are some possibilities:

Retail store volunteer

By volunteering as a greeter, information agent and personal shopper at one of our 18 Bay Area retail locations, you’ll help to make our stores more user-friendly and improve the shopper’s experience, ultimately increasing revenue and supporting our programs. Volunteers may assist shoppers in finding certain items, buying gifts, shopping for a special occasion, etc.

Treasure hunter

This is a fun and interesting way to get behind the scenes at Goodwill! This position, which requires a certain level of training from our e-commerce staff, allows volunteers to hunt for valuable donated items that can help to increase Goodwill’s sales. This is a great job for someone who has experience and knowledge in identifying high-quality collectibles, art, jewelry or electronics.

Window display artist

This is a fun opportunity for those who have design and marketing skills. Window displays keep our stores looking fresh and new, and reflect the constant stream of new items in our stores. They help to generate excitement and interest in our stores, as well as help us meet our sales goals. A little secret in the display world is that customers love to see stores putting up new window displays!

Workshop leader

Do you have a skill that could help our program participants? We are always looking for new development opportunities, including specialized classes for professional skills, personal development or even job searching for those with disabilities. If you or your organization has an idea for a workshop, please contact us to discuss this exciting opportunity!

Volunteer representative

Help spread the Goodwill mission to your company or organization! As a Goodwill Representative, you will connect your colleagues with volunteer opportunities and information about forming partnerships.

Executive training

We are always looking for ways to improve our nonprofit and provide continual learning opportunities for our staff. If you or your organization would like to help support Goodwill’s mission, please contact us to find out how we can work together to fight poverty in the Bay Area.
