SF Goodwill
Your feedback, shares, tips and personal experience inform the work we do every day. We enjoy hearing from you, friending you and crowdsourcing ideas.
As one of the oldest institutions in the Bay Area — the first Goodwill in the West opened in San Francisco in 1916 — we believe deeply that we’re here to serve the community. Today, you can find us actively engaging on popular social media sites. We encourage you and your friends and family to connect with us.
Share your ideas for the best way to drive forward a conversation, an idea or an event to benefit the Bay Area community. We’re listening.
Here are eight ideas to get started. Can you add others?
Leave comments
1Leave a comment on our blog posts or pages. We enjoy your point of view and find that our community often knows more than we do — so please share! We promise to respond.
Get email updates
2Keep in touch with what’s happening with Goodwill by signing up for periodic e-newsletters. We’ll tell you about the latest news, stories of personal transformation, upcoming community events, sales and more.
Write for us
3If you blog, take photos or record video, we’d love for you to do a guest post for our Bay Area Impact or Seismic Thrift blog. Contact the editor, Scott M. Bruner, at sbruner@sfgoodwill.org.
Become a Goodwill ambassador
4Over at Fundly, our new partner, supporters of our mission — centering on reducing poverty through the power of work — can create campaigns, raise funds, post photos and videos, and tap into your social networks for a good cause.
Get social
5Follow us on our Twitter account (@sfgoodwill) and we’ll follow you back. Subscribe to our Facebook Page, and one of our staffers will subscribe back (if you have a page), and we promise to respond to all comments.
Meet us on the streets
6Goodwill has a presence at a number of community events throughout the year, such as street fairs (see Laura in the photo at top), job fairs and other places. We also host Community Thank-You breakfasts and lunches each year in San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo counties. Take a look at our Community Events Calendar and see if we can meet in person.
Log into your account
7If you’ve created an account on our website, you’ll be able to call up a history of your material donations — especially handy at tax time.
Spread goodwill
8How do you spread good will in your neighborhood or in your life? Tell us below. We’ll soon unveil a section on the site for you to share your experiences.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
